What is waiting for us in the next F1 season?

Since we are getting close to the next season, some of the teams already passed the required crash test that needs to be completed successfully according to FIA's regulations. FIA announced that Ferraris 2018 car already completed this test. Beside the safety of the cars, teams keep developing new parts and concepts for the next season.

One of the major change in the grid is about McLaren F1 team. They had terrible seasons with Honda, which they provided engine to the team after the y divided their paths with Mercedes. Honda was out of the F1 so long ago and they never had chance to develop V6 turbo engines for F1 before. For this reason they didn't keep up with the other teams' paces. On the contract, McLaren still have to use Honda engine but they canceled this contract by paying too much cost as a penalty.

They decided to go with Renault engine for 2018. Renault's engine is still behind from Mercedes' and Ferrari's engines but over the years, we saw that they had so many progress with in the development of the engine. I believe that McLaren will have better year than last years that they had with Honda, but it is inevitable that they will also had hard times with Renault since they are going to work with Renault for the first time. In honestly Alonso was not my favourite driver in the F1 due to Schumacher years (I am a huge Schumi fan). But it would be nice to see him in front for the next seasons.

One of the other, change in the grid is going to be Halo, which we talked during our previous F1 post. However we didn't talked about its effect on aerodynamic. Normally, F1 cars designed as do deliver air flow that car created directly to the air duct that is present just above the driver. However, with the arrival of Halo, this part will disturb the air flow that needs to go in to air duct. For this reason, we definitely see some addition small parts on the Halo to fix this air flow, and you can see an example from McLaren that they tried during the test session in Abu Dhabi.

As a next difference, this season we won't see any T-wings and Shark fins due to FIA's new regulation. They said this is causing undesired view for the cars. Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of these designs but in a year, I guess I got use to see them.
