RE: Traditional Chinese Medicine - The Medicine of Prevention

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Hi, I am Matt, Emma's husband,

Short answer yes, definitely.

These 4 posts published on Steemit are our first tests.
Coming with the next monthly newsletter (within the next few days)there will be Steemit links within the newsletter to try bringing some of her thousands of subscribers to Steemit.

Also Links will be added to the website ChineseMedicineLiving.com

We just went through a full redesign of the website last month.
And are now looking into how to integrate Steemit on the website.

Long Story short,

Emma created ChineseMedicineLiving.com for her patients when she was practicing Acupuncture actively.
Over the years, the website has naturally grown and evolved and has became a resource for Chinese Medicine Practitioners, enthusiasts and people simply curious about alternatives to western medicine.

She once told me funny anecdote about one of the times she was approached by a corporation for advertising on her website, they wanted to talk to the design team, the marketing team, etc... And they were surprised that she was wearing all the hats. Having that website ran by 1 person.
(and a half, I got my own full time job but help out with the dev. / tech support nights and weekends)

Emma has always opposed polluting her website with ads, or selling out to product placement, etc.

So her very noble stance is leaving us in a very precarious situation that translate in little to no revenues with:
+50k unique visitors a month,
+350k page view a month
+15k page view per day
+250GB of server bandwidth a month.
Every couple months, her mailing list also grow by a bracket also costing more.
Every Server upgrade means more monthly costs.
Every redesign also cost money.
All that every month is paid out of pocket because we believe in her hard work.

So there is Steemit...

We believe in Cryptos,
and Steemit is a great idea, but one cannot just migrate an audience overnight and create a list of followers on Steemit. But we will try our best to bring as much of her audience to Steemit as possible.

From what we discovered this month, starting up on Steemit is not easy, it is quite the opposite.
I believe in Emma's work and that her noble stance (no ads no sell out) is compatible with Steemit.
I believe she can be successful and contribute to Steemit and I have been willing to put in some money to get her started the first month with SP and trying to promote / upvote her posts to get her noticed so that at least someone would find her articles within the pile, but that is not easy or sustainable.

Hopefully, enough Steemers will see the hard work she is putting in her articles, and one day it will at least pay just enough for her hard work to be sustainable. It would be great for her to be able to keep doing this thing she is great at without having to compromise with ads and paid for product placement.

So yes, we will add links.
We will do our best to contribute to this community and not be a burden to this platform we believe in.

Do not hesitate to ask Emma questions.

If you have any health issues or questions, she can tailor upcoming articles to the request and needs of this wonderful community.
