Emptying my office

Submitted my doctoral thesis a couple of weeks ago. My supervisors and the defense committee still needs to approve so I might be forced to make some changes if they are unhappy about what they read D:

Today I started moving my stuff from my uni office. My office mates either finished writing or already graduated. So the place is looking pretty deserted. The only decorative furniture are math text books and ugly boxes full of doctoral thesis copies.

PS not my desk in the photo. I am still in process of cleaning up. My desk is essentially a big pile of paper resembling a bird's nest. It is not a pretty sight D:

Good choice. After my PhD I started my post-doc almost immediately, following my moving 1/2 way across the US.

I join my voice to the other comment: what's next?

And after that? :D

good luck hope everything turns out fine. thanks for posting.

Congrats for submitting your thesis :)
I know how relieving it would be.
What is your field of study?

·

Thankies. My research area is mathematics. The topic is related to biological cell modelling using dynamical systems. Here dynamical systems mainly concerns ODEs :)

Quite interesting :)
Did you publish your work? I once liked Mathematics a lot, but had to leave it because of some practical issues. Now, I like Psychology :)

Most of my papers related to my PhD topic still need to go through the publishing machine. I like to keep my identity a secret so I am keeping the name of the cells I am studying a secret since I might be the only PhD in the world working on it D:

btw ben jij Nederlands? :P

@lemouth not sure yet. In the current topic I am working on there are no postdoc positions available. So if want to continue in academia I need to switch. My supervisors don't have much of a network so most likely I will settle for something outside academia.
