MY JOURNEY TO GLASTONBURY 2017 - THE BEST FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD - THURSDAY 22nd

Glastonbury 2017

This past week was probably the best i've EVER had because i went down to worthy farm to see the greatest festival in the world GLASTONBURY.

The journey there took me about 6 hours overall, and the queue into the campsite took about 3 hours in the blistering heat carrying the heaviest bag i have ever carried. Lucky i was a bit drunk so all the pain and tiredness was slightly numbed.

Arriving at the campsite we put up out tents and instantly started exploring. The amount of magical things you stumble across at Glastonbury is countless with the festival having over 300 stages and thousands of art instalments, its literally impossible to even be the slightest bit bored. On the first day we climbed the hill by the famous Glastonbury sign and i took this fantastic shot of the campsite.

The view was fucking amazing, the size of Glastonbury is overwhelming and the center area takes over an hour to walk from one side to the other. The best way to describe it is, a Giant Pop up Party City that never sleeps.

Then Thursday came and there was music. First thing i saw was Napalm Death because ever since Metallica played in 2014 they decided to book Extreme Metal at the festival.

Napalm Death

Napalm Death walked onto the Truth stage in Shangri La in front of a crowd of half metal heads, half confused families and Normies. Many people fled away suddenly when Napalm Death broke into their first song. But many confused people also stayed intrigued by this wall of noise. They cut the noise, and quickly burst into their 3 second hit song "You Suffer?" without anyone really noticing .

Barney (frontman) then shouted directly afterwards "Keep up".

Napalm Death were great fun and really funny, with an undertone of political commentary throughout blasts of random, barely audible, grindcore, noise.

Shangri La

Afterwards i stayed in the party area Shangri La and went to this stage with grime artists rapping and playing banging beats. The Grime stage was built from lots of rubbish and stuff that should've been thrown away but was instead built into this magnificent looking stage that looked bloody wonderful.

The crowd was insane and everyone was having just the best time ever. I then continued to drink and met up with my friend. We continued to dance outside a chip shop in Shangri La for a few hours, mirroring the moves of a middle aged man. Afterwards we went to the 360 degrees stage which played a bunch of political videos whilst everyone danced to House. I then collapsed and fell asleep feeling very drunk and like i had heat exhaustion.

What a fucking day! I'm gonna post about the rest of my time there over the next few days.
