Get Rich Quick Systems

There is no free lunch, I repeat there is no free lunch now one more time and I want you all to stand up and repeat this after me – THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH.

It takes time
Don’t expect miracles over night
There is no tooth fairy (I know that’s a tough one, but its true guys, sorry)

Now I’ve got that off my chest, being a financial advisor for so long I came across these things more times than I care to remember, some where magnificent in their complexity and some were just plain silly, but what never ceases to amaze me is that normally straight forward sane people (that definition of course not include Management Consultants) continue buy into them and then wonder why they loose their shirts, if it was limited to the stupid people then I guess that would be expected but smart people buy them too! And I mean some really smart people. Maybe re should re define the definition for smart when it comes to being stupid?

Living as I do in Asia I notice that a lot of these schemes seem to be very popular down here, probable because the low life’s who instigate them have been chased out of the West by Interpol and the CIA and now see Asia as easy pickings. Common names are, Money Game, Boiler Rooms (made popular by the film of the same name staring Ben Affleck) in Malaysia we have a Kutu Game etc etc. If ever there was a valid reason for bringing back stoning as an alternative form of punishment then Get Rich Schemes would be that reason.
