You are absolutely correct, something is very wrong with this picture and you said it clearly. The universities in the United States are businesses. They are maximizing profit from any person who is willing to pay for something that doesn't give you much of an edge over others who have the same degree. The competition for a college degree doesn't give anything of value to the millions people who are all seeking the same jobs. Americans were lied to and they are still being lied to about the promise of investing in your future with the promise of your future career is supposed to pay for in no time... Like that happens for 99% of people graduating from a university with a bachelors degree... that is laughable. Now the competition is for masters degrees, which cost even more money. Between this and healthcare pharmaceutical costs, i don’t understand why more people don’t demand change. Very odd indeed.
