Faith is a mysterious power, and when it comes to life in the soul of a man, it makes it more than any other power. Generally, when we speak of faith, we refer to faith in God, but not only religious people can benefit from this mysterious power of faith. You can cultivate faith in everything, you can direct this power of faith to any object or being, to whatever exists or does not exist. We say that we have faith, when, despite all the other evidence, we trust that things will unfold properly. Believers are those who are fully convinced in their hearts that a certain thing is in a certain way or that things will have a certain course, even if for now all the signs show it is impossible. There have been researchers who have come to discovering just because they dared to believe. They had an unshaken belief in their ideas, and even if the entire scientific world was adversary, they struggled to find a way to demonstrate what they had come to insight and feel as real because they were guided by the power of faith .

You do not believe in God unless you go to the Church and declare it. Do you believe in God when you continue to believe in goodness despite any adverse evidence. The power of faith is verified when you continue to believe even if all of you tell you that it does not make sense, that things have gone on another path and that nothing can change their course. Stay calm in any trial of life because if you have faith you know in your heart that everything will be good and what is happening, it is happening for the good of your soul. This is the power of faith, and those who rejoice in it are truly capable of great things. Only those who remain untouched before any obstacle have faith, only those who continue to believe in the help and goodness of God in spite of any opposing appearances.

Faith is a heavenly gift that comes from God. It is a discovery from the Father of Life, asking us to obey God. Unfortunately, man disregarded this heavenly prospect of life of faith. Again, it was revealed to us by Jesus Christ, who told us: "For this I came into the world to tell the truth" (John 18:37) of faith. "No one knows the Son except the Father, nor does the Father know him but the Son and the one who will and will reveal to you" (Matthew 2:27), "That whoever believes in Him should not But perish, but have eternal life "(John 5:16).

The Apostle Paul confesses: "With Him He rose up and made us sit in the heavenly things in Jesus Christ. For in grace we are saved by faith; And this is not from us, but it is the gift of God "(Ephesians 2: 6-8).

By this descent from heaven from God, we have gained the connection of religion with the Father of life in heaven, as Saint Apostle James says. "All the good gift and all the perfect gift from above is descending from the Father of the Light" (James 1:17). The Wisdom of Divine Reason has revealed to men the rationale "All Scripture that is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for righteousness, for righteousness. That the man of God be perfect, well prepared for all good work "(II Timothy 3: 16-17).

And we have by faith not to look at what is seen, but on what is not seen, for what is seen is transgressing, and what is not seen is eternal "(II Corinthians 4:18).
Thus we have come to understand that the world was created by the Word of God, "so what is seen is not made of anything that is seen" (Hebrews 11: 3). And so "everything in all" is God, in the beginning, now and in the future.

We humans, by the grace of faith, come to share with us the holy and divine powers, the faith pouring into us the great miraculous workings. Jesus Christ Himself said: "If you have faith, you can move the mountains too. For all things are possible to him that believes "(Mark 9:25). Those who believe end up being "sons of light" (Ephesians 5: 8).

Faith brings into our life a great divine transformation. For us it is known that "without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 2: 6). The Apostle Paul is maturing: "My life in the flesh lives in faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself to me" (Philippians 1:21). Our life is in God, which is for us the way of life in which we come to realize what we believe. We do everything we do in the presence of God. The Lord Himself said, "Behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). He is in us and with us, in order to make those of the faith.

In the Holy Churches He founded, Jesus Christ receives us in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism in the name of the Holy Trinity, which gives us grace and power to preserve our faith. And in His Holiness He gives us His Holy Flesh and His Blood. Through the Holy Scriptures we hear in the Holy Churches we receive the Eucharist of sharing with the wisdom of God. That's why, for whoever comes into the place of God, he asks us to "put all the worldly care at the thresholds of the Church ..." And to have this confession of confession: "In Your light, Lord, we see the light" (Psalm 35: 9). Blessed Augustine had this creed of life "Credo ut intelligam" - I think I can understand. And those in the Middle Ages said: "Intelligo ut we believe" - I understand to believe.
Today's Christians, at the end of the Divine Liturgy, joyfully yelled: "I have seen the True Light, I have received the Heavenly Spirit; We have learned the true faith, the indispensable part of the Holy Trinity, worshiping us, that it has saved us. "

On this heavenly faith blessed Jesus Christ: "Your faith has saved you!"

Faith is the only thing that is keeping us together. Amen.

Faith and skepticism.

In all matters of life, skepticism will save you from getting trapped by scams, cheats, liars, frauds, pyramid schemes, cults, and anything else that might trick you.

And faith is your greatest enemy. Faith is the doom upon your own mind that you yourself place there. Faith is a fully loaded shotgun aimed at your delicate brain, ready to splatter it into little red bits.

Faith tricks you into thinking a thing is true, without that thing actually being true. Faith is the reason people can be tricked so easily. Fool a person into having "faith" in an untrue idea, and that person is your slave forever, bound to spread the memetic virus.

My favorite explanation and demonstration of faith is Jesus' encounter with the Roman centurion.

"And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, and saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel." Matthew 8:5-10.

From this, it can be seen that faith is not simply a matter of believing the word, but relying on the word to accomplish that which the word says in contrast to our attempts to bring the word to pass through our own endeavors.
