Hackers auction on the Internet the personal data of 120 million Facebook profiles

A virtual package with the personal data of 120 million Facebook accounts, which among other information would contain private messages from affected users, was put on sale this Wednesday by a group of Russian hackers, with a price of 10 cents ( 8.75 cents) for each one.

According to the Spanish newspaper El País, the cybercriminals involved in the information leak, who had posted an ad on social networks before removing it, attacked mainly Internet users from Russia and Ukraine.

Through the malicious extensions of browsers such as Chrome, Opera and Firefox, as well as that of third parties, hackers have claimed to have obtained access to data from millions of people: the base they own comprises 120 million profiles, around of 2.7 million of these were opened in Russia.
