The Unrecognized World of The Creatives

Hey Everyone!

Let’s go back to childhood days for a second, the most precious days and moments in one’s life. You all might remember that everyone used to question us “What do you want to become” in life, like who do you want to be when you grow up. Right?

Every teacher and parent expected answers like doctor, engineer, pilot and many other coveted professions like these. They never thought or wanted to hear answers like a painter, singer, writer, photographer and other more creative professions.

All these fields have always been taken as just extra curricular activities. Everyone thinks they’re just interests or hobbies and that one needs to focus on studies and get their degrees to be something in life and create one’s identity in the so called society.

Basically, we all are different from one another and our lives are also different but lives of creative people are a bit more different than the others. Their creativity makes them different than others, which I think generally people don’t understand.

The Plight of The Creative Mind

Everyone and every parent focuses on professions such as doctors and engineers, so they can feel proud in the society. That’s why creative people never get that respect and attention and that even leads to many giving up there passions in order to get ‘respect’ by the people around them.

But passion inside a creative soul never dies and it just can’t be squashed. They continuously struggle and fight within themselves to prove themselves to the world. As you may know, sometimes, the most difficult battles are fought within.

They fight with oneself so many a times that they even face depression sort of feelings. They also feel and observe everything very deeply and have a very unique way of thinking and trying to see the world from different perspectives, which many logical thinkers don’t get. So, they are also misunderstood most of the times.

They fail many times in life and face many negative criticisms, mostly people say things like ‘get a good job and start working and earning, you will get no where with this field’. But, without creative people, would new inventions and discoveries be possible?

Think Big

There is a great saying, “We can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone”. So similarly, we can’t change the whole system and thinking but can bring change within us and someone else for sure.

Even little changes within us can make a better world for someone, as they say even one person can make a difference in someone’s life. And to make a difference we don’t need to be perfect in that field, we just need to support them and make them feel good about their work.

So, when you see a creative person pursuing a creative line of work, don’t scoff that they are not part of your 9 to 5 system. Don’t judge that their lives are completely different to yours. Understand their importance in the world and help and support them. The world will be better for it.

“ Support The Makers”

I totally agree that creative people are highly misunderstood and they go through so many struggles to prove themselves to the world. And almost every time, they only get the recognition and support they deserve after they have proven themselves.

Yes! I agree, everyday we struggle to prove ourselves to the world and get that respect and recognition in society afterwards :)

I personally love painters I don't know the reason, Though. Yes, Creativity is a soul. I had forgotten my passion to become a rock star for the obvious pressure from the society. After the stage if something excites me , It is Steemit.

I agree. Countless people tend to give up their passion because of pressure from the society which is completely unfair. Just imagine if creative people get the support that they deserved. There could be so much new stuff all around in the world today.

Your article is so true! This is the choice that so many people have to make...
I myself also have experienced the same kind of situation, have fought so many battles within... But, as you said, "passion inside a creative soul never dies and it just can’t be squashed" :) I'm so happy that creative souls are so strong ;)

Thank you :)
Yeah, seems like we creative people are at a constant battle with ourselves. But thankfully, most of us are resilient and don't give up that easily. And in the end, we are the ones who comes out victorious.

I absolutely agree with you! :)
