Journey From Taking Things For Granted To Gratitude

Many times we have heard people say “don’t take things for granted”. But, still we all do. Right? Hmm.. think about when was the last time you felt blessed for your health or any relationship be it with your mom, dad, husband, wife or anyone else and uttered those two magical words “Thank You”. Hardly any day, or when they did some favor or made us feel good or happy. Right?

But, is that enough? Aren’t you taking things for granted? Just saying thank you at times is not being grateful, for that you need to feel blessed enough. And, the main thing is that we all know we shouldn’t take things for granted but, we realize it only when those things are gone away.

For example: Let’s talk about our health, hardly we feel blessed that god has given us perfect health, still many wish to have it. “We are blessed” but we don’t realize it until we get sick or have some kind of accident. But then we realize and think that without good health there is nothing in life.

Same thing happens in relationships, specially when that relationship is given a name like mom, dad, son, wife, husband or any sort of relation. Then, we start thinking things like 'where will they go or they won’t leave us' sort of things because we have taken that relation for granted.

But, when it comes to any new relationship be it friend or life partner, we make them feel special and make efforts to build up an strong relationship. Why so? Because we are scared to lose them. Right?

How wonderfully all your relationship will flow, if you always treat them as your new relation.

Tips for change:

  1. Make each an every day worthwhile, be it yours or others. When you see your life in one day, it’s obvious you will want to make every minute count, simple as that. Live and let people live every day and every minute of life.

  2. Every morning count your blessings. Look around, you've got many things in your life which many people are dreaming of. “Feel Blessed”

  3. Try appreciating more in life rather than complaining. Go some days without complaining and look how beautifully things will appear in life.

  4. Try looking for good things or positive things in every situation, be in good or bad. It’s easy to look for positive things in good situation but it’s challenging in bad situation. So, go challenge yourself and see how fast those situations turn and solutions come up.

  5. Be grateful for every second of your life. :)
