Strange Air Traffic on the East Coast Yesterday
There's a website that lists all the air traffic; one can filter for civic or military flights. Information included involves altitude, speed, heading, call sign, and type of aircraft.
Here's something I noted while watching the air traffic yesterday: note the Gulfstream making circles over the Atlantic Ocean.
What's especially interesting is that it's user tag is the Department of Defense (aka the DoD)... so what would prompt a DoD jet to spend about 4 hours, circling over the ocean at 26,000 feet? (I kept checking to see if it moved from it's position to any great degree)
Today's feed includes Belgium Air Force in American air space (oooh, what news do they bring? Utter devastation of the same pedo ring Marc Dutroux helped with?)
And a Marine Corps Cessna that started out in Alexandria, Virgina, to Portland Maine, and back again.
Oooh, the DoD Gulfstream is back, but conserving more fuel, evidently. One loop and back home again...
So, if you got nothing better to do, check out the ADS-B Exchange. You might just find something interesting.
