Minor Catastrophe, But Successful Recovery
I discovered the exit of my solids drainpipe in the main fish tank had come apart when checking the aquaponics system today. I had to PVC glue and reassemble to get everything back in order. Luckily I had enough rain in my 55 gallon barrel to refill the system.
Luckily this hadn't persisted for a while and the fish are looking great. This is another benefit to this design. If there is a major problem like this It's not a complete catastrophic failure and is fairly simple to recover from.
I also am having issues with my automated feeder and had to replace it with a different type.

One of the challenges of aquaponics, keeping everything working properly.
Good stuff that it wasnt catastrophic, last thing youd want is no water in the tanks hope thats the last of the troubles for you.

hey @janton they are Nile Tilapia they take~ 240 days to mature and harvest at about 16-20oz size.

Yep @janton I still have to set up a breeder system 1 female can hatch round 1000 fry. As soon as those little ones get to a certain size they can be introduced into the main fish tank.
