NEVER TOO OLD TO CHALLENGE YOURSELF!

Leave fear aside and dip your toes into the water! If you don’t make mistakes, you will never learn. Stop finding excuses and hiding in your shell. Get out of your comfort zone for once and try something new! Something you have not done or experienced before. It can be anything. Start with small steps. Baby steps. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Losing control might might seem frightening and make you want to run back into your shell, telling yourself that you are not good enough or you are not cut for this or that. No one was born knowing everything!

Life is an on going learning process. The best way to learn is on the job. In this case, by actually performing an activity, instead of fearing it. Thus cease to live in fear and start working towards your dreams.

Don’t focus on the process too much, or else you may get distracted from the main goal. Sometimes going with the flow is all that you need. Other times you may need to listen to your intuition, your inner voice. Let it guide and show you which way to go. Self-encouragement is key.

Though that means to allow yourself to make mistakes. Don’t think of them in terms of failure, but as lessons leading to a higher level of understanding, of knowledge.

Seek for motivation in those who inspire you, don’t listen to those trying to weigh you down. Don’t allow others to clip your wings and don’t censure yourself! Be open-minded, think positive and you will see that believing in your own strength makes things fall into place.

Don’t limit yourself into one field. Even astronauts have other passions than flying through space. More you explore, more you learn. Never stop looking for new things to discover. The world has too many things to offer and you have only one life time!

If any of the things I wrote above did not determine you to challenge yourself and start doing a new thing, then the video below might be just what you need to see!

powerful message of letting go of your fears and self-doubts.

Seek for motivation in those who inspire you, don’t listen to those trying to weigh you down.

Most often we are bogged down by other people who tell us that it is impossible or even the negative voice in our head saying it can't be done.

I remember my teenage years that my matriarch didn't want us to relax even summers as we got shipped off to art, cooking classes and club activities.

Iw ould be later thankful to her because she instilled with me the passion to learn new stuff.

Most of things we have around today were possible because some brilliant minds refused to listen to others and take no for an answer. They believed in their dreams and transformed the impossible into a doable reality. Impossible can be bent and redefined each time one follows his dreams, believes in his strength and acts towards achieving his goals.

Greetings @lymepoet, very interesting, thanks for your posts that really motivate me to continue to struggle in the success of my life, keep success.

Thank. You! Glad to hear it helped.

great advice, we do really need to learn to trust and surrender sometimes x

Surrendering, letting go control is the scariest part sometimes.

Great post. I have always been the cautious type. Overly so through most of my life. I have been trying to make a better effort to step outside of my comfort zone and do something crazy every now and then. What you wrote really spoke to me concerning that part of my life. Thanks for the gentle reminder that it is okay to go a little wild sometimes!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts. Don't do anything that might affect you health ;0) be well!

Indeed we die when we stop learning and physical death is not the only type of death.

I totally agree! The moment we give up learning, we lose valuable opportunities to grow.

I used to hear people say "do at least one thing that is outside your comfort zone everyday".

well easier said than done, but I do strive to try something new whenever the opportunity arises. Keeps me feeling alive after days and weeks of being grind down by work and chores.

All you need is the will to do something. Once you decided on that, the rest is easy.

I love this post so much. You have given us such words of wisdom! Life is always a learning process for us and sometimes we have to make ourselves jump out of our comfort zone. That is the only way to be sure we make changes to better our lives.

I don't know if jumping works for everyone. It does for me. Some might prefer taking small steps while other need a push or will dive fully into a new thing. Thanks for stopping by!

I really love this post--especially the idea of not limiting yourself and seeking to find all the dimensions of your own being! What a great way to start my Monday. :)

I find that limiting yourself to one field deprives you from so many opportunities to grow.

Also, take one day to rest from all the challenges this world offers to us... I love trying new things and exploring how to improve the existing skills. A human being is never too old to have fun and enjoy. Have a wonderful day.

Yes, we do need at least one day off. At least one day for the soul. ;0)

I wonder sometimes if it was my nature or if it was my environment that gave me the push to look beyond what was expected of me. My family was poor, I was a slow learner, and I was painfully shy. Everything pointed to failure. Everyone expected it. But instead of folding, I got stubborn. I defied all the expectations. Today, I'm still a very determined person. No matter how hard things get, I just keep plugging. So... your advice, as far as I'm concerned, is brilliant. Sometimes, those old negative messages creep in, but I push them away and move forward. Really, what other way is there to live?

Thank you for stopping by! We are all victims of our environment. As kids we are pushed by curiosity to discover things and explore the world. As grown ups we are pushed by society in one direction or another and we forget to listen to our inner voice, as we are constantly being told what to do, wear, act or say. When you take a step outside of the bubble and start looking at yourself, you see your strength.
