¿Alguna vez han estado en el paraíso, o han soñado con siquiera tocarlo? Yo sentí que lo había alcanzado, cuando estuve en este prestigioso establecimiento de esparcimiento el año pasado, viviendo en primera línea de lo que es capaz el Venezolano, tanto a nivel arquitectónico, en capacidad de desarrollo económico y turístico, o lo más importante el calor que pueden ofrecer sus trabajadores y la sonrisa en la cara de quien está en representación de tal empresa.

El paraíso es un lugar que parece absolutamente perfecto en todos los sentidos. Puedes pensar en él como si fuera la parte alta del cielo, o como un lugar de felicidad eterna.

La oportunidad perfecta para volver a enamorarme de mi país, de conocer llegar a conocer a personas humildes, que son felices al hacer el trabajo que les gusta y, ya sea por haber nacido en una zona turística y estar acostumbrados a personas como nosotros(o auténtico don de gentes tal vez), no les cuesta trabajo alguno ofrecerte una mano amiga.

Cómo empezó todo...

La travesía comienza bien temprano. A las cuatro de la mañana ya estamos corriendo al taxi que nos iba a llevar hasta el aeropuerto. Una vez superado el ajetreo de las maletas, el desayuno y el respectivo café, nos encontrábamos bajando la carretera panamericana en dirección a nuestro destino. Quizás una hora después, llegamos a nuestra primera parada. En Maiquetía, en el Aeropuerto Internacional Simón Bolívar (SVMI por sus siglas ICAO; sí, soy un geek de la aviación) tomamos un avión que despegó al rededor de las siete de la mañana a la isla Caribeña de Margarita, en el estado Nueva Esparta, en el noreste del país, epicentro del turismo, perla indiscutible de mar Caribe. Registramos el equipaje y nos situamos en la puerta de embarque. Afortunadamente, y para alimentar aún más mi pasión por la aviación, estábamos a una vidriera de separación de la principal pista de aterrizaje/despegue, por lo que pude tomar varias fotografías (inclusive subir una que otra historia a mi Instagram) hasta que llegó la hora de abordar. El vuelo fue cuanto menos rápido, duró aproximadamente unos cuarenta minutos.

El Hotel

Para llegar a nuestro sitio de hospedaje, el paquete turístico incluía un transporte Aeropuerto - Hotel y viceversa. En el camino, el chófer muy simpático y servicial fue indicándonos sitios simbólicos de la ciudad, contándonos su historia y cómo todo llegó a estar como está, hoy en día. Tengo que decir, honestamente, que el hotel queda bastante retirado de La Asunción, la capital de la isla y donde se concentra la mayor parte de la actividad económica y turística de la isla. Poco imaginaba yo que no me haría falta salir de aquél hotel para pasar los mejores días de mi vida...

Nada más llegar y realizar el check-in, fuimos recibidos por un representante de ventas que nos ofreció un tour completo y extensivo de las instalaciones, las actividades que allí se realizan, lo que podíamos y no podíamos hacer, donde encontraríamos las canchas, los bares, las piscinas, la playa; lástima que al final de ese largo paseo por las para nada pequeñas instalaciones, sigilosamente nos introdujo a una habitación estratégicamente localizada al final del tour, donde nos retuvo quizás por una hora o incluso más, haciéndonos una entrevista para que contratáramos uno de sus planes. ¿Qué se le va a hacer? Es su trabajo al final del día.

La habitación

Una vez nos concedieron la llave de la habitación fuimos ipso facto a ver dónde descansaríamos los próximos cinco días. La sorpresa fue más que grata. Nos encontramos con dos camas matrimoniales perfectamente tendidas y además, decoradas con un magnifico arte con toallas, sábanas y incluso florecillas sobre las camas. Nos hospedamos en unas habitaciones espectaculares, amplias, airosas, con aire acondicionado y un gran balcón donde salir a sentir la brisa y el calor autóctonos del mar Caribe. La verdad es que era para no salir de allí jamás. Luego entendimos que lo que había afuera era aún mejor y realmente pasamos muy poco tiempo en esa habitación.

La comida

El Hotel cuenta con 3 restaurantes principales: dos incluídos en el paquete turístico en los que puedes comer tanto y como desees, con self-service y otro donde puedes pedir a la carta y que te preparen la comida al momento. Este último es de pago adicional. El menú de los dos primeros restaurantes varía diariamente, cocinan desde huevos revueltos o tortillas hasta bistec encebollado y cordon blue. Además de tener días temáticos (mexicano, Venezolano, italiano, etcétera). Nosotros pasamos la mayor parte de los cinco días en el restaurante más cercano a la piscina, ya que aparte de estar más cerca a nuestra habitación, nos hicimos amigos de algunos mesoneros, los cuales nos trataron como huéspedes de lujo sin siquiera pedirles nada. Además, el mar caribe estaba a escasos 30 metros, y la brisa que se podía sentir en ese restaurante no se comparaba con nada.

Entretenimiento

Tenemos para nuestro esparcimiento y relajación disponibilidad de tres grandes piscinas, sala de videojuegos, mesas de billar, spa, y por supuesto la magnífica playa El Tirano, que queda escasamente a 30 metros del hotel, unos dos o tres minutos a pie. En ánimo de hacer la estadía todavía más amena para los huéspedes, el equipo del hotel cuenta con un equipo de animadores que son de lo mejor que te puedas cruzar por medio. Hacen obras de teatro todos los días, bailan de manera espectacular, actúan y además son comediantes. De verdad que las noches en ese teatro reúnen a todo el hotel y lo ponen a gozar de manera descomunal.

Conclusión

En ese establecimiento pasé los mejores cinco días que he pasado jamás, sin necesidad realmente de salir del complejo turístico, ya que allí lo tienes todo. Donde comprar recuerdos, donde comprar dulces, comidas excepcionales, equipo de animación de diez, piscinas sumamente relajantes y una playa caribeña refrescante; lo que yo me atrevo a llamar el paraíso.
Si algún día tienen la oportunidad de visitar este lugar, no duden en hacerlo, porque realmente vale la pena cada centavo. Espero traerles buenas noticias pronto, y decirles que pude volver a ir y volver a vivir momentos excepcionales allí como los que en aquellos días pasé.
Con esa copa de tinto de verano con la que despedimos el viaje, me despido de este post, otorgándole un poco del sentimiento que sentí al despedirme de ese hotel. Sin lugar a dudas memorable.

The perfect opportunity to to fall back in love with my country, to get to know humble people, who are happy to do the work they like and, either because they were born in a tourist area and used to people like us (or authentic gift of people maybe), it does not cost them any work to offer you a helping hand.

How it all started...

The crossing begins very early. At four in the morning we were already running to the taxi that was going to take us to the airport. Once past the hustle and bustle of the suitcases, breakfast and the respective coffee, we found ourselves going down the highway in the direction of our destination. Maybe an hour later, we arrived at our first stop. In Maiquetía, at Simón Bolívar International Airport (SVMI for its acronym ICAO, yes, I am an aviation geek) we took a plane that took off at around seven in the morning to the Caribbean island of Margarita, in Nueva Esparta state, in the northeast of the country, epicenter of tourism, undisputed pearl of the Caribbean Sea. We register the luggage and took a sit at the boarding gate. Fortunately, and to further fuel my passion for aviation, we were a window away from the main runway, so I could take several photographs (even uploading some to my Instagram's stories) until the boarding time came. The flight was quite fast and lasted approximately forty minutes.

The hotel

To get to our lodging site, the tour package included a transport Airport - Hotel and vice versa. On the way, the very sympathetic and helpful driver pointed out symbolic places in the city, telling us his story and how everything came to be, today. I have to say, honestly, that the hotel is quite removed from La Asunción, the capital of the island and where most of the island's economic and tourist activity is concentrated. Little did I imagine that I would not need to leave that hotel to spend the best days of my life ...

Upon arrival and check-in, we were greeted by a sales representative who offered us a complete and extensive tour of the facilities, the activities that take place there, what we could and could not do, where we would find the restrooms, the bars, the pools, the beach; such a pity that at the end of that long walk through the not-at-all-small facilities, he quietly introduced us to a room strategically located at the end of the tour, where he kept us for perhaps an hour or even more, making us an interview so we could hire one of his plans. What are you going to do? It's their job at the end of the day.

The room

Once we were granted the key to the room, we went ipso facto to see where we would rest for the next five days. The surprise was more than pleasant. We find two double beds perfectly laid and also decorated with a magnificent art with towels, sheets and even little flowers on the beds. We stayed in spectacular rooms, spacious, airy, with air conditioning and a large balcony where you can feel the breeze and heat of the Caribbean Sea. The truth is that it was so comfy you wouldn't even think of leaving from it. Then we understood that what was outside was even better and we really spent very little time in that room.

Food

The Hotel has 3 main restaurants: two included in the tour package where you can eat as much as you want, with self-service and another where you can order a la carte food and have it cooked at the moment. The latter is for additional payment. The menu of the first two restaurants varies daily, they cook from scrambled eggs or tortillas to onion steak and cordon blue. In addition to having thematic days (Mexican, Venezuelan, Italian, etc.) . We spent most of the five days in the restaurant closest to the pool, since apart from being closer to our room, we made friends with some waiters, who treated us like luxury guests without even asking for anything. In addition, the Caribbean Sea was only 30 meters away, and the breeze that could be felt in that restaurant did not compare with anything.

Entertainment

We have available for our relaxation three large swimming pools, video game room, pool tables, spa, and of course the magnificent El Tirano beach, which is barely 30 meters from the hotel, about two or three minutes on foot. In order to make the stay even more pleasant for the guests, the hotel team has a team of entertainers who are the best. They do theatre plays every day , they dance spectacularly, they act and they are also comedians. It's true that the nights in that theatre bring the whole hotel together and make you enjoy it in a huge way.

Summary

In that establishment I spent the best five days I've ever spent, without really needing to leave the resort, because there you have everything. Where to buy souvenirs, where to buy sweets, exceptional meals, exceptionally good animation team, extremely relaxing pools and a refreshing Caribbean beach; what I dare to call paradise basically.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit this place, do not hesitate to do so, because it is really worth every penny. I hope to bring you good news soon, and to tell you that I was able to go back and live again exceptional moments there like the ones I passed in those days.
With the glass of wine with which we bid farewell to the trip, I say goodbye to this post, giving a bit of the feeling I felt when I said goodbye to that hotel. Undoubtedly memorable.
