Getting back with Patience.

in #life6 years ago

"The patient dog eats the fattest bone."

I don't know how old that quote is, but I know that I've known it since the time I could understand words. The funny thing is, in my teenage years, the quote was reevaluated and changed. It became

"The patient dog does not eat the fattest bone, it dies of hunger."

Now, if you've had to wait for something, and still lost out, in the end, the new version would make sense to you. So, strategies had to change, no more waiting, fight for what you want, the hungrier you are, the better. If you're in the category of people who switched sides, how did that work out? Did you get it all? Was the rush worth it?

I might not know much, but I've been around long enough to know that good things still come to those who wait. I might not have had enough experience, but I've seen enough to know that, the rat race never gets you far. Which would you prefer, getting there late, or not making it there at all? It might take a while, but hard work does pay, and it pays handsomely. Remember another old quote that says "Slow, but steady, wins the race."

After a few wearisome experiences, you might have called patience up, and ended things with her. Well, you're in luck, she never really left, get back with her, she still is, and always will be, one of the best virtues there is.
