People You Might Not Know

With Louis Bettong

Sailing La Vagabond

Here are a couple of Aussies that you have to check out, they have built themselves the life. Riley & Elayna are today's People You Might Not Know firstly because I admire what they have been able to achieve in regards to building an enjoyable life. Secondly, because they are both genuine and entertaining, while at the same time presenting their own take on the places they visit.

I think their content is relevant, that is to say would strike a chord with steemit users, as I get the impression that a lot of people here are looking for alternatives. Alternatives in mediums of exchange, reward for work done, life and media in general. I think most of us have identified that currently, what we have been told is a model life, is anything but a good fit. We have to try to fit into society, which is increasingly becoming more homogeneous more rigid in its requirement for conformity in thinking, while superficially allowing us to act and dress diversely. We are circles being forced into square holes.

I first saw these guys awhile back, and after a few videos you can get hooked to their lay back style the antics and the amazing places they visit.

Riley & Elayna decided to sail around the world a few years ago, documenting their travels on video for their family, they started a Youtube channel and garnered a decent subscriber base. They have been posting regular videos ever since and the clips are well worth a look if you are interested in a truly alternative lifestyle.

They started out with no sailing experience and the videos cover some of the learning experiences along the way. The comments section of the channel is interesting as well, there are comments with good advice from experienced sailors, criticisms, agreements and probably a few trolls, but all in all makes for a rich interactive environment with the pair. I also understand that you can win the opportunity to sail with them from time to time.

They have traveled to some great places all over the world, diving, fishing and spear fishing, sailing and generally having a great time where ever they go. Additionally they provide tips and share the difficulties they have had along the way. They also provide information on maintenance issues on board a sail boat. Riley thinks he is a bit of a stunt man one notable stunt was the "Rileys Jump off the Mast - 100K YouTube Subs!!" Elayna enjoys music and clean eating, and shares some great guitar and singing, food tips for eating at sea and stuff to do when you're bored. They both love diving and you can see they both have grown to love sailing and travelling. Their videos are well presented and show a different perspective of some of the places you may or may not know all over the world. They have plenty of content if you have some time to kill, while dreaming of a better life, you might find them an inspiration to put it into action.

Below I have provided a link to their first video so you can hear from them about their beginnings and direct you to their channel, they also have a Patreon (also linked below) account if you enjoyed their content.

People You Might Not Know, are articles I do from time to time, designed to introduce people or content that you have not seen before so that you may enjoy or learn from them as much as I have. With the sheer amount of crap available on alternative media, I would like to bring what I have found entertaining or useful, it's my contribution of filtering out nonsense and #makingmediagreatagain, i.e. you won't find me writing about the Kardashian's. Please chekc out some of my previous articles for other People You Might Not Know.

I love their channel! I wish they had a blog here!

It would probably be a good idea for them but I think they get more exposure through YouTube. It is good to watch though, deep down I'm jealous.

They don't have to leave Youtube to come over here :)

Yeah, I would like this platform to take off too. I'm pretty new, do you know of any stats about the growth of steemit can be found?

Everything is public so you can google stats for STEEM and you should find what you are looking for. Some users here post some stats, but if you are looking for anything in particular you shouldn't have a problem finding it.

I like feeling that I am contributing in some small way to their adventurous lifestyle. They are two very beautiful people, both inside and out.
