Away from The Smoke

We're moving out of London. That's one of the things that's been distracting me from Steemit of course. We've bought (or strictly speaking, we're in the process of buying) a house in Guildford - two bedrooms, nice little garden, fifteen minutes walk in to town.

I lived in Guildford thirty years ago - I was at Drama School there from 1984 to '87 and so I have good memories of being there, although the hills all seem much steeper than they did in those days for some reason! The picture above is five minutes from us over the road. Expect my vlogs to feature quiet wanders along the river.

I haven't really internalised what it will mean for my everyday life. I'll no longer be able to hop on a bus, train or tube with my Oyster card and get to Central London so easily - it's only a forty minute trip into Waterloo, but it's more expensive. On the upside though it means that I have a whole new town to explore for interesting work opportunities and new collaborators.

We plan to move in three weeks time. So.... packing...
