To be Born on a Man's Womb: A gift for someone's misery or a curse to one of our nature's mystery?
What if the world was inhabited by beings that thrive to change their very nature? Which side would you believe and fight with? Due to the evolution of our technology, thus it also leads to the evolution of one's soul? We are all aware of most typical inventions and discoveries nowadays that we even embraced its effects for its either give a betterment to everyone's life or it's just that we don't care for it's inapplicable to us?
Talking about inventions and discoveries, the very plausible example would be the succession of today's doctors and experts when it comes to surgeries. Changing the body shape or image means a life-changing experience for someone who undergoes such treatment. Before we dig deeper into the said topic, let's take some glimpse of the internet and the Bible perceives a woman.
According to the Bible, a godly woman shows true beauty for bodies may deteriorate but persons develop, we must invest in that which lasts.
Proverbs 31:3
1 Timothy 2:9-10
But when you try to search the Urban Dictionary, the term "woman" is accompanied with anatomy in which it stated that:
Well then, how can we apply this technical definition now? Isn't limited to the initial identity and characteristic or it still embodies the present times, the one with too many changes?
The woman that every man desires to share his world with is the one who will mother his children, help his plan life, pick him up when he's down and make him a better man than he is right now. And this dream gives the courage to anyone one who desired to have a child and to have a husband or partner to be with until the end of time.
And now, let's go back to the main topic, the ideology of today's new discovery. Because of the pioneering uterus transplant surgery, transgender along with infertile women now see hope that they could one day become pregnant, despite having been born as biological males.
Surgeons at the Cleveland Clinic have successfully performed the nation’s first uterus transplant, giving a 26-year-old infertile woman a chance at pregnancy after receiving a uterus from a deceased donor. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the transplants will be temporary, for after the recipient has given birth, the uterus will be removed in order for her to stop from taking antirejection drugs. The experiment builds on groundbreaking work in Sweden that proved that uterus transplants can reverse infertility by which many find it very challenging and helpful for their current situation.
The many steps would make an already tough process but how much more to a transgender woman? It'll be more difficult and expensive for she needs to undergo much more treatments and operations compared to a real woman equipped with the criteria to becoming a mother. Thus, the body requires a lot of preparation. It is theoretically possible to transplant a uterus into someone who was born male that it even receives a lot of ethical questions.
Gender reassignment surgery would be much more involved as with traditional male-to-female surgery, doctors would have to create a vaginal canal and need to make space for the uterus. The said operation would require widening the pelvic inlet, which is substantially narrower in men.
After the male-to-female surgery, the patient would need about a year to heal before undergoing the womb transplant — which in itself is quite an ordeal. The first one performed in the United States took nine hours.
The transgender woman could make her baby genetically related to her as she could use her stored sperm before transitioning, to fertilize a donor egg for implantation. Along with close monitoring, careful administration of hormones would help the patient sustain her pregnancy.
The transplants are designed to be temporary, so the surgeons plan to remove the donated womb after the recipient has carried a pregnancy or two to term. Thus, a patient with a uterus transplant would have to take powerful drugs to prevent her body from rejecting the donor organ.
Dr. Richard Paulson, President of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine
Since 2014 at least five babies have been born to women who had received wombs in a series of operations in Sweden.
Women’s campaigner Laura Perrins on the womb transplant said:
Along with diverse beliefs and principles in the world that surely you also have decided which side you're on, what can you say about this latest discovery? Could you say it's a gift for someone's misery or a curse to one of our nature's mystery?
