Mother Dies Hours After Birth, Her Husband’s Touching Post Sparks Compassionate Outpouring Online

 Cherish every moment we have been given because we do not know which will be our last. We don’t always understand God’s ways, sometimes He makes beautiful things happen in our lives while other times He breaks our hearts. Everyone who has lost a loved one has at some point questioned the motives of God. We, in our human weaknesses, will never fully understand why bad things happen to good people and why wonderful human beings are taken from us. Perhaps someday we will get our answers but in the meantime, we need to trust that if God brought us to a difficult time then He will bring us through it. 

 For Jean Luc Montou and Sarah Bertrand, the 9th of May 2017 was one of the happiest days of their lives. The couple had just welcomed their song, Julian Charles, into the world and were as happy as any new parents could be. However the pictures of the beautiful moment that Montou posted on Facebook not only announced the birth of his son but also the tragic death of his wife. Twenty-nine-year-old Bertrand passed away within 24-hours of the birth of her son. Her exact cause of death was unknown but was suspected to be a rare condition called an amniotic embolism that causes internal bleeding.In Montou’s account of the tragic events, he says that Bertrand first complained of a headache and then has a seizure. He held on to every last bit of hope because they were at the hospital and the staff was doing everything they could to save her. It was only when they started with chest compressions and using the defibrillator that he realized that things were getting serious. Bertrand died in front of Montou as he held their son. 

 Montou and Bertrand had been together for a while and Bertrand was a wonderful mother to Montou’s daughter Jane from a previous relationship. Following her death, Montou wrote of Bertrand that she was the best thing that happened to him and Jane and he wanted people to take a moment to remember her. He said that the last twenty-four hours that he spent with her had been the happiest they had ever been. Montou’s touching tribute post on Facebook also says how much he loved Sarah and that he could see how much she loved their son. The post went viral with hundreds of messages of comfort coming in for Montou.Montou fondly remembers how Bertrand was always there for him and Jane. And how she never hesitated to be a mother to Jane and help him when he was having a hard time being a single parent. Sarah Bertrand was a wonderful person and Montou wanted to make sure that people knew about her and remembered her.Jean Luc Montou says he was so touched by all the condolences messages he had received from around the world because of his Facebook post. He is happy that after everything Sarah did for him and his children, he found a fitting way to honor her memory.
