I think that is a good choice to use a phone. The cameras these days are pretty darn good. I just shot one of my recent YouTube videos with my wife's iphone. The video look really nice.
Yeah, the cameras in phones has come a long way since the last time I had a smart phone I think. So I hope that it's good enough for my use, time will tell I guess :)
