Just make the time.
Procrastination is a bear and not the cute type like Yogi or a teddy, but the voracious type that seems to feed on legitimate reasons for getting things done and crapping out excuses. I'm working on that today.
My 10 year old recently started attending "Viking" gatherings and thinks it is the coolest thing in the world. I don't have a problem with that, I think I wanted to be Batman at that age, so I'm not likely to cast stones. Of course she has no desire to be a part of the "hearth" group, she wants to be a warrior, but is well below the required age. Enter "daddy." No, I'm not pressuring anyone to let her fight, but costuming is a big part of their "thing" and that I can help with. We start with cuffs, arm guards, vambraces, or whatever you want to call them. Finished one last week for her.
And this week we cover the other arm. While it's part of what I do for a living, the knotwork tooling is fun and challenging as it's new territory. I guess I could have said no, but my time isn't so valuable as to deny my child something within my ability. Now when she wants full armor, we'll need to talk.
Okay, my procrastination quota for the day is met, time I get back to work.
