With the advances in technology there are exams that are done in a virtual way by internet, but the fact is that the exams done at hand are still in force and are part of the education of many schools and universities.

Stefen makes a valid point in light of "cut & paste." I homeschooled my kids and had my own pedagogy... instead of lecturing, I gave my kids reading assignments and had them write papers. We then would go over them correcting for grammar, spelling and content. That way I could teach more than one subject at a time.
When I taught college, my focus was on writing... all exams were "Bluebook." I have a friend that works at a think tank in Michigan doing studies on education. The biggest complaint he got from employers is that "nobody can write." The focus on testing is counterproductive, in my opinion. But if it's going to be the benchmark... writing should be the basis.

Let's keep the handwritten exams. It gives me a better feeling writing my answers down instead of typing them, but it can also be because I'm always typing and mis the writing now and then

I struggled with written exams, not as much with the answer, but with the amount of writing required in some tests.
Being a left-hander, I could never write at great speed and often didn't manage to get down all I wanted to say. I don't envy exam takers at all!
Yeah... It was really hard to me as well!
I think online exams are more transparent and have a chance of almost zero error. They even give the results just after the exam and saves a lot of paper and ink.
