Winter at its worst

And so it officially starts. January, the welcome host of a new year becomes the dawn of man flu, the killer of menfolk, the scourge of maledom and an invite to the female of the species to wreck sarcastic humour towards the guys!

Yes... it’s most definitely man flu season!

By the way - I’m a guy, and I do appreciate and laugh at the humour of it all and I always laugh along. We men do seem to get the rough end of the stick. When I say that, i mean that men seem to feel it worse than women. It’s probably because, I believe, that women are awesome powerhouses: go through monthlies, pregnancy and all of the terrible things that we guys take for granted. What’s a little cold to go on top?

Men, on the other hand react SO much differently. Are we wimps or does the common cold act like our kryptonite?

One annoyance for me comes from folk at work complaining they have the flu. Well no, you don’t! The mere fact you even got up to go to work means you don’t. Flu knocks me down to the point there Is no way I’m moving from bed other than for the obvious things.

As I wrote this, it’s 07.04 gmt, it’s dark, it’s windy, cold and my throat is bunged up with mucus. I’ll be fine. Popped a few pills and away with go.

Point is, you mustn’t let it get you down - get on and focus on what you need to do. If you get the comments - “don’t be giving it to me” or “why have you come to work to infect us?” - just laugh and say - “well one of you gave it to me to start with, I’m just sharing the love!”
