DC Reciprocity...

Exciting Developments

In the news this week, we heard that Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise (R) was recently shot at a baseball practice session in Virginia just this past Wednesday (June 14, 2017) as several other Congressmen scrambled for safety. However the Capital Police in attendance contained the issue quickly which may have turned into a much more massive tragedy as up to 50 other Congressmen were also out on the open field.

Rep.Steve Scalise

In a side note, the shooter was labeled a Bernie Sanders supporter, and the Congressman is part of the movement to expose sex trafficking, in the Pedogate and Pizzagate Scandal. Coincidence?

Of course gun control advocates immediately jumped on this Crisis of Opportunity... "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." -Rahm Emanuel

But Wait

Rep. Thomas Massie

A day after the event, the D.C. Personal Protection Reciprocity Act was Introduced:

Congressman Thomas Massie, the Chairman of the Congressional Second Amendment Caucus, introduced the bill H.R 2909, named the D.C Personal Protection Reciprocity Act.

This legislation would allow individuals Legislators, with a valid concealed carry permit issued from their home state to carry their firearms in the District of Columbia (which is currently prohibited).

“After the horrific shooting at the Republican Congressional Baseball practice, there will likely be calls for special privileges to protect politicians,” Congressman Massie explained. “Our reaction should instead be to protect the right of all citizens guaranteed in the Constitution: the right to self-defense. I do not want to extend a special privilege to politicians, because the right to keep and bear arms is not a privilege, it is a God-given right protected by our Constitution.”

The Congress has the authority to legislate in this area pursuant to Article I, Section 8, Clause 17 of the U.S. Constitution, Congress has the authority to “exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever over such District as may become the Seat of the Government of the United States.”

So many Congress members (even those that support staunch gun control), stated that they will now be carrying at all times, irregardless of current laws. Well in DC there are rules of Gun Control that are in opposition to people (Yes even government officials) from carrying without a DC permit. The bill is to have DC recognize all existing permits (from the many other states) to help the politicians residing outside DC, to have reciprocity within DC when they visit.

Now the good news...

Now if this passes (when frightened legislators want something for themselves, we all know they will vote for it), what will now stand in the way of the National Reciprocity Act???

This could easily be used as a stepping stone to work it's way into National Reciprocity Act 2017:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/38?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22concealed+carry+reciprocity+act%22%5D%7D

_This bill amends the federal criminal code to allow a qualified individual to carry a concealed handgun into or possess a concealed handgun in another state that allows individuals to carry concealed firearms.

A qualified individual must: (1) be eligible to possess, transport, or receive a firearm under federal law; (2) carry a valid photo identification document; and (3) carry a valid concealed carry permit issued by, or be eligible to carry a concealed firearm in, his or her state of residence.

Additionally, the bill specifies that a qualified individual who lawfully carries or possesses a concealed handgun in another state: (1) is not subject to the federal prohibition on possessing a firearm in a school zone, and (2) may carry or possess the concealed handgun in federally owned lands that are open to the public._

A good and unbiased political update...wish the rep well and thanks for sharing

If we all just stuck to what the countries laws stated as opposed to creating new statutes and had an unbiased Supreme Court, we would all be so much better off. I fear those days are probably gone.

I agree. However dont you think that some biased and uninclusive laws should be modernised by members of congress?

To me there are the 10 commandments that I think (apart from religion), are a life set of rules for all, the Constitution holds the Laws of this Country... they should be upheld. We do not need new laws, we need people to adhere to the real laws and with all citizens.

I personally do not trust any "Law" the congress introduces... these corrupt people now are not our representatives, they are corporate slaves or blackmailed hostages. Beside that they are not even about the law, they are about sneaking in other agenda... congress can not even balance a budget, should I trust them with making a law?

You are very correct. Keep up the good posts, following you in order to get more from you...lets stay in touch. Success.

Already following you as well... good health.

Great guy, thanks we will surely stay in touch. Success

It's easier to put yourself in the shoes of another person when you actually find yourself in a similiar position. Now that they have been victims of a violent crime, they want guns.

I don't think this was random violence.

SO much of the "Random" violence these days are instigated with political end... we people must stand up and speak, loud and damn soon.
