New Year, New You, and Birthdays.

Going to the gym in January is a nightmare. Combine that with Birthdays overloads and you will have a recipe for an extremely successful start to 2019.

As you might image, Birthdays are the best holidays of the year. This year the January babies decided that instead of traveling they would stay local. Off to an interesting bakery called "Just Bakes"

The name didn't click until I arrived there and instead of the delicious smell of fresh cookies, there were interesting scents ablaze. The cookies they made were delicious and fresh baked cookies, with ice cream, covered in cereal is the only way to celebrate.

In a couple of months, we will be what I call camping, renting a van to camp. Apparently renting a van to sleep in is not the same as camping with tents. Nature people have all sorts of ways to get this city girl to sleep outside. Mission accomplished if you ask me.

Just like that, the Birthday queens were celebrated, were feed, and everyone was high on sugar. Hopefully, it was just a sugar high. Questionable establishment and maybe too good of desserts

Many desserts latter, we have come to the end of the celebration. It was a huge success! On our way to the annual meeting, we attempt to clam down from the sugar high. Upon arrival, we quickly learned that more desserts were on the way.

Somewhere along the way, people learned to say thank you with donuts. This week alone there has been at least three occasions where donuts were gifted. Is this an American gesture or has it been around and I missed the Donut trend?

Our church kicked off the annual meeting to set the tone for 2019. Does your church or company do the same?

Goals, dreams, vision, mission, you name it the church will use it to set the tone for any meeting. This year it was decided to create four focal points for the year with a general theme of loving others. Loving others through the community, the church, the world, the family. The outreach efforts will vary and the events look fun. Ironically, I set up my vision board in a similar way. All that to say, February is almost here and how are you doing with your goals?

January, for me, was focused on establishing a new norm. Moving, traveling, and budgeting needed some customizing. It's been tough to stick to, but I hear sticking to diets are harder.
