Applewood Smoked Salmon, Watermelon Salsa
Serving size 4
What you will need:
- 4 - 6oz pieces of your favorite salmon
- 10 oz soaked apple wood chips
- salt & pepper
- Pan spray (trust me your gonna need this)
- a metal perforated pan and 2 non perforated metal pans
For the salsa:
- 1/2 red onion small dice
- 1 jalapeno minced
- 2 TBSP lime juice
- 1/4 of a small watermelon ( I used red and yellow in the picture) small dice
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Smoker assembly (this will produce smoke on a stovetop)
Bottom piece
Middle piece^^^^
Top piece
So now that you have your smoker assembled put the wood chips in the bottom part put the other two pieces on top and on a burner then set your stove top to high
Season your salmon with salt and pepper, and pan spray the bottom of them to prevent sticking, once the smoker is rolling with smoke place salmon inside the middle perforated section and let cook for about 7 minutes and then turn off the burner and let sit for another 5 minutes.
For the salsa dice all that shit up and mix everything in a bowl add a little salt and pepper bam! your done
Now you can impress all your friends and tell them your like a caveman or something and you know how to smoke meats.
love this and can taste it as i read..... off to raid the fridge
