New Year - New Self. But how?
Attempts to change often fail for two reasons: they are chaotic and expect immediate results. If it can from today to tomorrow. Today we plant the seed, tomorrow we have a tree. Today we run into the park, tomorrow to run a marathon. Today, to visit the gym, tomorrow we are the strongest on the beach. Do you know when do you have the most women in the gym? On February 13, to be in the form of Valentine's Day.
Yes, it sounds funny, but we do it. We start acting too late when we already need a result without spending enough time to achieve it. We are waiting for the situation in the office to become quite unbearable before we start looking for a new job or - the favorite of all the liberal professions - we are rushing to work through the head the night before the end of the project.
No wonder our wonderful intentions do not work and push another disappointment into the dusty closet of the mind.
What then to do to change?
The answer is simple - to build a system that will inevitably lead us to success. Path from regular, small steps to the goal.
Of course, at first there is an effort to build and move it, but from a moment it starts to move us forward. She attracts people, situations, material things. The amount of effort at one point leads to a qualitative change and elevates us to a new level.
Unfortunately, the idea of systematic efforts that turn into habits does not sound enticing as advertising on television. Many people prefer to believe in luck, I delete the field, two - win the jackpot and three - life is beautiful! But even if he can accidentally attract good things, man will hardly be able to hold them if he has not built up the appropriate habits.
He may have a great figure, but if he does not support it, how long will it be? She can meet an incredible woman, but if she does not know how to communicate with her, how long will their relationship continue? He can get money, but if he does not have any habits, ask the tomtomillionaire - he'll lose them in a few years.
There are several steps that help build our system of change:
Take a long enough time to achieve it. Look around and listen for how long it took for other people to reach our goal and give us the time. Speaking English for a week or having a sculpted body for a month - it would be nice, but let's be realistic.
Determine how we will realize that we have achieved our goal - what will be our "Final" inscription, after which we can open the champagne and celebrate? For example, this may be a B2 level certificate, or the achievement of certain body sizes, or the smoking of an electronic cigarette only a certain number of weeks. It is important to know in advance what marks the end of our path and gives us the occasion to be proud and satisfied with ourselves.
Provide maximum external support for the stage we create and drive our system. If we push the car to light, we'll ask a driver to help us, right? And he usually responds because he knows what he is.
The same thing is needed when changing - for example, we can go to the gym with a friend who has been walking for years and who would snatch us even when we are lazy; to join an online group of weakening or learning languages; to find a mentor; even to find a competitor from whom we are ashamed to lag - anything that would give us an incentive to act regularly in the chosen direction.
Track and evaluate your progress. We can make our own wall of fame where we can collect photos, diplomas or awards. Or write a record in our notebook. The important thing is to have the feeling that we are moving forward to tolerate the moments we give back and which inevitably happen.
Let's note the end of the final with friends and relatives who appreciate our achievement. Shared good emotions will fill us with new strength to achieve our next, even higher goals!
If, however, the change is avoided, it may be necessary to work with a professional psychologist or psychotherapist with whom to find and remove the hidden beliefs that hinder us on the path to the goal. And then boldly go ahead. Because we all deserve to be happy and successful.

You hit the sympathetic reasons why we changed and merged it with the reality. You also gave us a nice tangible way to institute change and track the progress. I appreciate it and your unique style. Thank you
