In the Age of AI Brain-Computer Interface is not a sci-fi. It’s a reality of the near future

The Artificial Intelligence Age is coming. Companies, research centers and other organisations are working on machine learning which explores study and the construction of algorithms that can learn from and make predictions on the data. In the Age of AI computers will never be just devices, they’ll become an extension of humans mind. But first, we need the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) to communicate biological brain with external devices and powerful Artificial Intelligence systems.

It is possible to communicate with computer more effective and faster with more bandwidth than is currently possible via input mechanisms. The method is to create an interface to connect directly brain with the machine and with powerful AI systems. This combination of Artificial Intelligence and Brain-Computer Interface can be very helpful for a lot of people including scientists, developer or people with disabilities (e.g. paralysis patients). Shared control is needed to help people with disabilities, because brain activities and waves are too hard for algorithms to interpret them and do these complex tasks but the AI can interpret them. The shared control is a combination: AI+BCI. This combination will open gates and allow us to use the full potential of AI and BCI and to do every tasks and operations.

So, what can we do with the combination of Artificial Intelligence and the neural-computer interface (shared control)? We can create robots to work outside the spaceships, control spaceship without people inside it, do research in the outer space, build space stations. We can help people with disabilities (including paralysis patients) by creating robots which will work according to these people thinking.

Brain-Computer Interface will allow us to control games and devices by our thoughts, control computer without keyboard and mouse, changing TV channels, access apps and data or control nanobots/biohybrids.

BCI will become a revolutionary improvement in our life’s quality. It will be a way to merge biological brain with digital mind, a way to connect people with Artificial Intelligence.
