With a Cup of Sugar - Film Trailer | a Documentary Film about Kosovo
Kosovo emerged from war to become Europe’s newest country in 2008. This has not been easy. Some countries still do not recognize its autonomy as a nation and hold critical votes hostage that would allow Kosovo to become a fully-recognized member of the United Nations. Recognizing the challenges, Kosovo has been working to bolster its image and forge meaningful relationships with people and places around the world. One of these relationships is with the U.S. state of Iowa. While it may seem an unlikely pair, the budding relationship has the potential for a lasting effect on the people of both locations.
This film provides fresh insight from the people who are a part of enacting this change, and to see the beginnings of a nation in the 21st century. Kosovo is a nation that fought for its independence without access to the world wide web, but declared its independence months after the release of the first iPhone. With this in mind, Kosovo and its people have had an opportunity to interact on a global scale in a way that no other country has been able to do from its inception.
