Monarchy vs. Democracy
Let's start with a small introduction - why ask yourself this question at all? Why consider what is better for the countries and their citizens (ie us): democracy or the monarchy - of course, I'm not talking about constitutional monarchy, in which the king has very little power, but about a full, "normal" :P monarchy? Is the government system so important to us? Individual laws and acts are not more important ?
The last question can be answered with a comparison to the tree:
Imagine a tree as a state. If the tree is strong and large, it means that the state is working properly and the leaves (to symbolize the citizens) are numerous and green. I would like to compare individual legal acts in this case to individual branches. Trunk is the backbone of the state - ministries, government. So what remains? In my opinion the most important part - roots. Without roots there would be no speech of a strong or even living tree. Roots are the symbol of who controls the state, from whom decisions depend.
Bad or rotten roots affect all parts of the tree.
So if we build any country on the wrong ground, the bad governance system we can immediately prepare for more problems. Sometimes they appear after so many years but they are absolutely unavoidable.
DEMOCRACY:
Pluses:
- the people (ie we ourselves) are in power - indirectly (by their representatives) or directly (citizens themselves vote over rights);
The first way is more common for obvious reasons - the latter is possible only in countries with a small number of voters;
- the authority can be easily revoked and changed, just by waiting for the next election;
Minuses:
- the people are in power - yes, I know that I have previously put it in pluses xD but unfortunately it is also a downside.
Most citizens are not interested in politics. They have many other things on their mind: family, work, friends, hobbies, illness, finance. This means that people who are not interested in politics often take part in elections and referenda. This in turn leads to reckless, ill-informed decisions based on lack of knowledge. This in turn leads to reckless, ill-informed decisions based on lack of knowledge.
- election can be falsified;
The ideal voting system has not yet been developed. Some systems are better than others but each one of them can be forged in one way or another.
- democracy divides citizens;
In the democratic system, the consequences of any wrong decision - no difference whether it is choosing the wrong politicians or wrong decisions in the referendum - falls on the voter who made the election at the ballot box. This can in turn lead to internal tensions in society and even among family members or friends.
- in the case of representative democracy there is one more downside: the interests of our representatives (politicians) are usually against the interests of the electorate.
Two examples:
1) In the interests of voters are low taxes. Politicians on hand are high tribute. Thanks to them, they can, for example, have many social programs that they (literally) will bribe electorate during the next election.
2) Each one of us would probably like to enjoy the greatest personal freedom. It is absolutely normal, human desire. Politicians, however, tighten the circle of surveillance to increase their influence, control and ease of government.
MONARCHY:
Minuses:
- one citizen has a little or no influence on the course of government;
But it can also be said about democracy - one man among (for example) 200 million others will not change the result of election with his single vote.
- an bad or foolish ruler can sit on a throne ;
There is always a risk that a descendant of even the wisest ruler may be the bad ruling.
- monarch and even his entire family may perish or be killed;
An event like this can end the dynasty line and consequently cause confusion in the country.
- every king (just like democratic politicians) has conflicting interests with the people he governs.
In his interest are high taxes and the ability to control and surveillance of society.
Pluses:
- It's easier to find one wise man than many;
Every man, asked if it would be easier to find him in the street of one wise man or 200, would answer without thinking that it would be much easier to find one. If it is true, it can be said that the probability of having a WISE king on the throne is much greater than the probability of not having STUPID politicians in parliament.
- it is logical to have a good successor;
Every monarch is a human. This means he probably loves his family. It is therefore absolutely natural that he will try to ensure that his successor has good manners, is educated and prepared for government. Otherwise his successor may be overthrown or killed by rebellion of the people, palace plot or military coup.
More than this - democrat politicians often care only about the fate of their country until the end of their parliamentary term, so the monarch (because of the future fate of his family) has an interest in thinking about good governance of the country even after his own death.
- society is united
If the king rules well and fairly, society (theoretically) should be united in love or (at least) sympathy for him. In the case of bad governance, the entire nation is against a bad or ineffable ruler. In each of the above situations everyone knows who to blame. There can be no "blurring responsibility" here.
- no election scams
Without elections, there can be no election fraud.
- The state is cheaper to maintain
History shows that there has been no more bureaucratic regime in the world than the present democracies. If there are fewer officials in the country, taxes are also lower, and that is a good news for all citizens of the state.
IN CONCLUSION
As I mentioned at the beginning - I do not want to write here about my opinion which system is better. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this topic.
I hope these reflections will be interesting and useful.
What are your opinions? What do you think about it yourself?

Unfortunately people see Republics and think they are democracies nowadays. If we had true democracy, it would be demonized as "anarchy"....
Nowadays, we have more of an oligarchy, like you implied with the cartoon, where we in the "Land of the Free" get to choose between which international millionaire crime family will rule over us... Complete and utter horseshit and is in no way a democracy. I'm glad we have Steemit to talk about these things without the risk of censorship (:
Thanks for this post!
