Don't Forget to Say 'Thank You'

in #life6 years ago

As per Wikipedia, words:

  • gratitude, thankfulness, or gratefulness

… come from the Latin word ‘gratus’, meaning ‘pleasing, thankful’.

Gratitude is a feeling of appreciation or similar positive response to kindness, help, favor, gift, award, compliment or some other type of generosity.

Moreover, we can develop conscious thankfulness on a daily basis.

There are no big or small, important or unimportant things that we can be grateful for. Literally anything that made your day or made a difference in your everyday life, seemingly the slightest thing that made you laugh or feel happy - all of that counts!

You can be grateful for people you love and who love you, the things that serve you well, unexpected surprises, humorous moments, hearty laughs, an umbrella that saved your day in a sudden rain shower, delicious ice cream, children mischief that made you laugh - you name it, there is no limit to the list.

You can even write you gratitude journal, doesn’t matter is it in an analog or a digital form.

At the end of the day, just jot down one, two or three (or more) things that you are grateful for that day. As simple as that!

Yet keep in mind: the benefit of keeping a gratitude journal does not come from the writing itself, but from active, conscious, internal feeling of gratefulness.

The power of expressing gratitude in our daily lives brings up powerful positive emotions and feelings of happiness.

So, don’t forget to say ‘Thank you’ - to others, to yourself and also to all the good and happy moments in your life.
