RE: Why does the rich continue to be richer and the poor poorer?

in #life5 years ago

I am not sure this is true.

The government tends to tax the rich more than the poor. In fact all taxes come from the rich, while the poor pay basically none.

But we do have a government that is sorta legalized corruption, so laws can be made for big lobbies. That is different from the rich. I.e. if you had $50 or $1M, you tend to have more problems with the government when u have more money.

We do have a financial system that is designed to move value from poor to rich, but few understand that.

So before fixing the government, one would want to fix the financial system and without changing that any change on the governmental side will be ineffective.

Sort:

As far as I know, the financial system was build and strengthened by governing constitutions and laws made by men. But I agree, there should be a change in the government internally and externally especially on our respective officials and the way they run the state. So in other words, we should change the men in power but it's so hopeless to think that way.

Again, I don't think the state has much to do with it, more the financial system. Yes it is in the power of the people to change it, but it is an independent thing. It has been made independent by the federal reserve act and also works across countries.

I am not saying the government is perfect in any way, just that it effect ion wealth distribution is minimal and ineffective, even though it takes so much from rich (so net equalizes).
