Thanks for sharing, that was lovely. I was told I couldn't sing when I was young and believed it for a very long time. Luckily, in my 20s, a workmate encouraged me to take lessons. So I did amateur musicals for a while. But it wasn't till I joined a community choir in my 50s that I truly owned my voice.
Oh wow, thank you for sharing your story with me! Isn't it crazy how so many of us shun our voice? I really wonder why that is when in so many other cultures singing is encouraged, cultivated and part of their lifestyles. I'm just happy I have decided to put the judgment of others aside and do it anyway because it feels so good :) I love that you're doing the same
