Practically, not everyone fancy's a show off. A wise man said, pride is more like a double-edged sword. If not rightly used, it backfires the victim. Truth be told, has this mark, (PRIDE) it might not be noticeable always, but will eventually come out in some occasions. People will mistake you for an egomaniac if you're too proud. The big question is, are there ever times when pride is tagged as a good thing?

If you ask me, nothing in excess is ever a good thing technically - most especially this topic pride. Pride generally, is somewhat wrong, reason being it places attention on the character at the cost of the public. When someone is praised in excess, automatically their external validation is limited. Perhaps you're a victim of this cause. Relying on external praises for motivation will lead to a long-term damage. Those who enjoys undeserved praises are always leading the pack.

In a nutshell, those who are filled with pride will develop a sense of dominance over the rests. It takes a lot to be filled with pride, an individual that has too much pride may find it entirely difficult to ask for help from others. And this act can ruin there whole life or make them miss opportunities. I personally abhors staying or having proud people around me.

Pride doesn’t have to be all bad, though. It’s healthy to give and receive praise when it’s been earned. It’s important to offer appreciation when someone does something well, and it’s equally crucial to be appreciated.[1] As long as people accept praise with a balance of pride and humility, there’s nothing wrong with being recognized for doing a good job.

Pride is never a good thing especially when its in excess (just as you stated above). Imagine a world of humility and meekness where egoism and pride isn't welcome. We'll definitely be living our dreams. Nice article you got here buddy. Resteemed!

Well written @king-oghie, in my opinion, I try as much as i can to remain humble with whoever I come across, reason being we don't know where we will meet again in this life. Great article" thanks
