A Boring Birthday Post!

in #life8 years ago (edited)

One of the few birthday cards I got in recent years

I'll be thousandaire if I get a nickel for every birthday wishes I get on Facebook over the years! I'm getting older. Hopefully with better wisdom in each passing year. Honestly, I've really never felt more alive before Steemit. It sounds weird since everything's virtual side, but I'm not joking.

The fact is, I relate to the folks here much better. My Facebook is basically dead, and I'm only using that for advertising my business. I'm not much of a microblogger anyway.. and my friends are all busy getting married and having babies lol. While I'm here fiddling with ideas and experimenting with Steemit.

I just want to post up my important writeups to date, and wish to revise the list of the upcoming posts that I'm currently drafting day and night! Not a big birthday celebrator, but it'd be nice if you check out my older posts and suggest what you want in the near future!

Essential reads (I spent a gazillion hours writing these):-

Future reads. Drafting all of these at the moment. I'm currently putting a stronger focus on writing essays about cryptocurrencies and Steemit. Listed based on decreasing priority:-

  • The Cost of Diversity & Decentralisation (An Analysis for Market Speculators)
  • Three Key Steps to Abundance
  • The Future of The Individual & Cryptocurrencies
  • The Language of Civilisation: Mass Customisation & Mass Collaboration
  • A Zero-Knowledge World
  • The End of Nations: On Identity, Diversity, and Civilisation
  • Introducing Nihilism: The most liberating belief / non-belief ever!
  • The Return To Renaissance - A Guide

Oh here's some music for you. Supporting indie musicians will be the best birthday gift for me! - VAPORWAVE (October's Music Selection by @kevinwong - with free downloads!)

Alright, I'm off for dinner and karaoke! Thanks for reading, and please leave any comments about anything! I will reply as soon as possible. Cheers.

Happy Birthday Kevin! I really appreciate all you do for steemit. Both by posting and curating and a lot of hard work behind the scenes that may not be recognized by everyone, but is vital to the success of steemit.

It's pretty awesome how we can connect and share whatever interests us and in return get feedback and rewards. How cool is that!

Wish you a successful year, not that you need it, and excited to meet you at steemfest and network and have fun with everyone their.

And being in rolling stone can only add credibility to this platform. Angelina on the cover doesn't hurt, but i'd rather have @dantheman and @ned autographs inside than hers. She's never given a dime to me, but through steemit I've been blessed with the generosity of both founders.

Hope you get great presents and continue making awesome music!

Thanks @bendjmiller222 ! Haha not a big presents guy, just had some good time with friends and fam :) Can't wait for Steemfest as well, and will see you there!

happy birthday! hope you have a great day and spend it with lots of fun activities.
your work on steemit is always very well-researched and well-written, and great interesting topics too - keep it up!
Looking forward to your future posts!

Thanks @sirwinchester . A pretty tiring few days indeed! Seems like my family and relatives most have birthdays toward end October. Thanks for the compliment too, have a good day!

Happy Birthday, Kevin🎂 ! I love heading out to karaoke for my birthday too! Looks like we have that in common! Anyway thank you for the time you've spent on steemit making it a better place, it wouldn't be the same without you!
༼✿ @sweetsssj

Thanks for the wellwishes and kind words @sweetsssj :) I could say the same to the awesome blogposts that you're putting out frequently. I lost my voice today, but yeah karaokes are good fun :) It's weird but we sang much more older songs than the newer ones lol

Sorry I missed this earlier. A belated Happy Birthday to you mate:)

I was wondering if you could do some things on the business side of music/DJing. I think that we have a growing set of music artists on here that can only pursue it part time and that is the nature of the industry these days. How can a musical artist or DJ survive and get by in the modern world? Perhaps you could do a series where you talk to indie artists who have had some success.

I'm also thinking this kind of thing could probably be applied to visual arts too in some respects. I would love to be able to fund my photography habit using the actual photography itself without having to make it a full time job.

Thanks mate :) Now that you've mentioned it, I definitely should speed up on draft that talks about this.. I think Steemit is one of the best ways to try to monetize and have a stake in learning, doing, and sharing..

Happy Birthday, Kevin! I am happy to call you a friend and thank you for all of your great participation in this community.

Thanks Tom! Likewise, and plenty of my experience on the platform wouldn't have been possible without your awesome friendship and support :)

Happy birthday! Glad your Steemit experience so far has been a good one, and here's hoping you have an even more awesome future still ahead!

And that joke card looks depressing as hell. Don't you wish you got the real thing instead?

Thanks buddy @cryptomancer! And guess who sent me the card? I used to have a crush on her lol

Ouch, talk about rubbing it in!

Birthdays come and go making Hallmark's stock rise.

So very true.. :)

Happy Birthday.

Thanks @ace108 - i love chocolate cakes!

You're welcome.

Like you, I don't care much for birthdays. Probably much lesser than you! But happy birthday anyway!

I can't really escape mine, sister's/nephew/uncle/cousins all in the same week! Thanks dude :)

Happy birthday! Have a great one!!

Thanks @slayer! Had a good one :)
