I Am Having Issues With Nancy

I'll like to clear the air about who Nancy is before I continue so that you don't get the wrong ideas. Lol. Nancy is a doe, a female rabbit, the first set of daughters from Betty another doe. With that all cleared up, I'll like to get back to reporting what about her I am having issues with if you don't mind. Lol.

Issue Number 1

Nancy is a first time mom, she delivered her kits last week Friday which is about a week ago now and with that she is depicting some characters that are not so encourage-able. First it was the day she delivered her kits (babies), Does (female rabbits) normally remove some fur from their belly and chest area which they use to cover their young for protection, hiding them away from plan sight, providing them heat and it also makes the kits find it easy to suck on their mum when is meal time because they will not be having the stress of shifting her fur to find her teeths (nipples). In Nancy's own case she didn't remove any of her fur on that day, instead, the following day she only removed very tiny fur on her side of the cage instead inside the nest box is. I wasn't too bothered about this because the weather has been really hot and dry these couple of days, I also keep my rabbits in a hall like structure in a building so the far of cold or wind affecting the kits wasn't a bother at all.

Issue Number 2

The next thing I noticed about Nancy of recent and which I think is an issue is that she has formed the habit of wee weeing (urinating) inside the nest box while feeding her kits. This I find very disturbing because it is changing the coloration of the kits and I assume it may have other heath implications for the kits. I have had to change the Newspapers I put into the nest twice now so the kits at least get some freshness but ones I check up on them the next day Nancy has wet the place again. I just can't wait for the Kits to get to 14 days or less if they are very agile so that I can remove the nest box totally.

The kits are doing very ok despite their mum's character, she is feeding them well as you can see from their rounded tummy and rapid size increase, I guess I have to give her a breathe, since it is her first time, I wish rabbits had nanny rabbits or her mum can come and tell her a thing or two about nursing babies. Lol.

Very interesting post. Nancy gave birth to her for the first time. You can understand and forgive her. Thank you for sharing

I have already forgiven her my friend, I just hope she learn for next time.

That is very true. They grow very fast and are very prolific.

There is really nothing much to them. You learn as they grow.
