Does social media make our life unsocial?
Today, I would like to write about how social media effect our life. We use social media everyday without knowing what harm it can cause to us. An average user spends almost one hour a day on social media. Many people spend their time at least 3 or 4 hours on social media. So, today I am gonna explain that how social media effects our life and I will also write about social media's good sides and bad sides.
How Social Media Affects Our Lives
The internet controls everything we do. We use email to communicate with friends, family, co workers and companies. We can search anything instantly we want to know on google. But the biggest thing we spend out internet time on is social media. Social media can be used for many things. People share photos and statements with friends and family.
Disadvantages of social media:
Personal data and privacy can easily be hacked and shared on the internet.
The addictive part of the social media is very bad and can disturb personal lives as well.
Teenagers are the most affected by the addiction of social media.
Many people have to check their social media on an hourly basis to be kept up to date which results in a loss of productivity in the long run.
Because of social media, there is a lack of effective verbal communication skills.
Advantages of social media:
People from anywhere can connect with anyone.
You can share your issues with the community to get help.
It's more convenient than traditional methods of communication. Its significantly faster than writing a letter and more convenient than calling.
Business can use social media to target their specific audience. That way, they only show advertisement to who they are trying to target, teenagers, seniors, students etc.
Many jobs are created for social media development,management. Facebook, Twitter,Instagram are the biggest websites on the internet, meaning more employes are required to manage them.
A life without social media:
Many people consider that they can't imagine a life without social media. Social media has a huge impact in our life. Many people addicted to social media. So how could be life without social media?
People can have to make the time to contact with friends and family for a catch up instead of relying on social media.
You can build stronger friendships in life than on social media.
You can spend your time more useful such as reading book, doing sport etc, instead of liking people's picture on facebook.
All in all, social media is a very useful platform if you use it wisely. However, we must be aware of its dangers and disadvantages it provides us.
