Today, I am gonna write about the problem which is irregular urbanization in İstanbul. Irregular urbanization has very bad influence for istanbul's silhouette. So, I decided to write about.
What is urbanization ?
The process of the formation and growth of cities. the change in a country or region when its population migrates from rural to urban areas. the proportion of a region's population that live in towns and cities; the rate at which this proportion is growing.
What is irregular urbanization ?
Irregular urbanization is the growth of cities in a way that is random, unplanned and without any control. This type of urbanization, which does not take into consideration to protect to present history of the city and it causes destroy to historical, cultural and natural values.

The population of Istanbul is increasing day by day. We have more than 15 million population in İstanbul. Istanbul is a important city with its geographical location, historical and beauties. However, irregular urbanization might affect more in the future.
What causes irregular urbanization in İstanbul?
One of the main reason for irregular urbanization is the fast growing population in İstanbul. There is a huge difference between eastern part of Turkey and western part of Turkey. There are many people who are coming from eastern part of Turkey to find a job in İstanbul. The people who are living in eastern part of Turkey, can't get the same opportunities with the ones who are living in the western part of Turkey. That's why İstanbul getting crowded day by day.
Consequences of irregular urbanization in İstanbul:
Irregular urbanization brings with it transportation problems in İstanbul. Due to irregular urbanization, İstanbul ranks in the top 10 in the world that cities with the worst traffic in the world.
If a city has irregular urbanization, then it brings infrastructure problems. Like the same in İstanbul.
Irregular urbanization causes infrastructure problems as well.
Irregular urbanization destroys green areas as well. You can not find easily green area in İstanbul due to irregular urbanization.
