Success Or Suck-Cess

Success! What is it to you? Is it an end of a video game where you won? Or it’s an end of a conversation where you overwhelmed the opponent? Or it’s an end of a chess game and you’ve got more figures out of the game than your friend? As you can see from the previous examples, success or if someone is successful is determined by the end. The end of the game or era or just a conversation.
I know you are asking the question “am I succeeding or successful?” But again what was the timeframe in mind? Just being successful at one point doesn’t mean you will be marked as a success. Also if you “determine” that you are successful and you’ve made it, it can mean that your life is kind of over… Yeah you’ve heard me correctly. I’m not saying you are about to die. You are already dead. You are satisfied, you don’t need anything, it’s over. See, this really has nothing to do with what you’ve got or don’t. It has to do with your desire to push, to continue, to move forward, learn new things etc…
I know that you have someone or something you consider as a “loser.” But a loser is someone that has lost hope or on the apposite is completely satisfied. In both cases it is a state of mind. A state of mind that says “I’m content with all I have, now I can stop…and…” See, it’s not wrong to stop and enjoy the goodness. It’s not wrong to enjoy life. The problem is that you have a mind, body and a soul/spirit. Now, we all know and can see very easily what happens when you stop talking care of the body…it rots. If you stop eating at one point your body will die. If you just eat and don’t move the body will die too.
See, but this is what happens with the rest of you, the real you. If you stop having any wants desires or pursuits YOU WILL DIE! So how do you achieve success without something dying inside of you or about you? It’s impossible. Even just because you achieved success it means you died about something. You died about spending time with your friends or that hobby you used to have. Sometimes it means dying to your country, parents or relatives, relationships you used to have in order to achieve the “success.”
Now before you decide that success is something that you want please decide which things, relationships and people you are going to die to?Check how big the death tall is “pun intended” and then compare with the success. If the price is too high please don’t be on the wrong side of the bargain. You know you hate to lose, I know I hate to lose too. However, have you thought about this? Sometimes losing is winning and winning is losing. Think about it this way.
Let’s say you are at an auction to get a precious painting. You know the painting is nice and you’d love hanging it on your wall. Also the painting will appreciate with time and you will make a boat load of money. You have estimated that even with the painting appreciating the top value that can be achieved is 200k. So the auction starts at 50k. You put your hand up for 58k then someone shouts “70k”etc… This goes on and on. Now the price is at 175k someone says 176k. With heavy head, arms sweating, heart drumming you scream “ one hundred ninety five thousand.” The other guy counters at 200k. You want to scream 205k, but your tongue cleaves to the roof of your mouth a cold sweat runs down your palms and you STOP! You know “it’s not worth it.”
Well the same thing happens in life. You see something or someone and say “ if I was this guy or gal and had that thing I’ll be successful.” You change your country, parents, habits, language and sometimes even your spouse and it’s still not enough. Then you get a new personality “ even a few of them.” It’s still not enough. The demand gets higher and higher. It’s still not enough. But somehow your logic is failing you. The auction logic is not working. The common sense is gone. You are just in pursuit of that “thing” no matter the price. You pass by a nicer, better and prettier things it doesn’t matter anymore. At this point from a business perspective and any other view “ you are a loser.”
So what price should you be willing to pay for success? It’s called balance. Any other price is too high or too low. Balance for different people comes at different point. I’m over 200 pounds it will take at least 200 pounds on the other side of the scale to balance mine. You maybe more or less. Remember we are figuratively speaking here. Please don’t be on the wrong side of the bargain or success. Find your price and the price you are willing to pay and act like you don’t know it. When the success becomes worthless please drop it.
