Memory and Advertising

in #life8 years ago

When people see a brand new brand or product, they are often skeptical on whether or not to make the purchase. Even people who tend to be carefree will still be careful when making certain financial choices.
Understanding how the memory works will allow you to sell your products better.

It’s important for your customers to become familiar with your products, There are some sayings that it takes 20 times of exposure before someone eventually will buy your product. So maybe they need to hear from you 20 times, See 20 of your ads or flat out want your product that many times.

Haven’t you noticed that you sometimes can make decisions about something really quickly?
That’s because your subconscious may have been working out the issues in the background without you even being aware.

Memory

When info comes from decisions based on Memory.

  • The shopping list is a great example.
    • An easier accessible brand that you’ve used 100’s of times.

Stimulus

Is when you make the decision based on the info readily available in a physical place

  • Like a supermarket.
  • A brand is more readily recognizable maybe one you’ve seen before.

Mobile Tagging

Gives an interactive experience. A mobile tag should act as an accelerator and a facilitator. Mobile tagging can be used to entertain, collect information, Or as a gateway for purchase.

Marketing and advertising your stuff causes the person to go through these steps. Also known as AIDA

Attention
Interest
Desire
Action

  • With mobile tagging, customers don’t have to try and remember some URL. They can just scan the barcode; You also can hide parts of your photo to spark interest.

When you advertise, it’s also good to give a teaser. So for my coloring book maybe I’ll show them one page. But nothing else. It may tease them because they'll want to see the other pages.
