How to get more things done in your day

in #life7 years ago

Getting things done can make a huge difference on whether or not you have a good or bad day! Everyone wants to be productive, But some people need to work on their productivity skills, Here are some helpful tips to help you get more done in your day.

Block-time

Block certain hours of the day where you will commit to getting stuff done, and don’t stray from it. Treat it like an appointment. If you give yourself 1 hour to work on your book, set a timer and do it. This will allow you to manage your time more efficiently.

Batch Tasks

Don’t just do tasks randomly. Do them in an efficient order. If you have to go downstairs to get your laundry, and cook dinner. Do both at the same time, Heck while your food is cooking you could even fold laundry then by the time your food is done your laundry will be done too. Doing things in batches is a huge time saver. When you go out to do errands do all of them at once.

Take frequent breaks

You can’t expect yourself to do well if you aren’t giving yourself any time for breaks. Don’t be afraid to throw a break in. And do something more enjoyable. Read a book, Go for a bike ride. Just don’t take too many and let those breaks distract you. Otherwise, it will do more harm than good in your day.

Maintain lists

When you have a list, you won’t sit there confused on what to do next. I noticed that when I am confused on what to do next for my business. I often start procrastinating or doing something to occupy myself because I’m not sure what to do. Having a clear goal of each day, and having written lists can prevent that. You can even have a list of things to do for each project you are working on.

  • Make deadlines for those lists
  • Evaluate the list to make sure everything is needed.
  • Eliminate anything that is no longer relevant.
  • Create checklists for routine activities that you may forget.
  • Checklists often force you to take action.

Set Actionable Goals

SMART GOALS
Set goals in every aspect of your life

  • Business
  • Educational
  • Relationships
  • Hobbies
  • Spirituality
  • Financial
  • Public service
Create goals as problems may arise in your life, That way you can be happier. And actively work to solve the issue.

Maximize your productive sweet spot

You may notice that by waking up at a certain time, Doing certain things at certain times. Can make you feel better or worse for the day. It may be easier or harder to get everything you want to be done. By making sure your desk is clean, You get enough sleep, and you eat well among other things you can be the most efficient.

  • Identify your ideal work environment.
  • Embrace the 80/20 rule
  • Delegate to eliminate and learn to say “no.”
  • Focus on one thing at a time.

Track progress

You often don’t know how success you are until you start to keep track. It’s important to be aware of how far you’ve come along and how close you are to solving all of your goals. You can keep track on a spreadsheet, In your journal or any other method. Whatever keeps you motivated.

Reduce mindless consumption

  • Set limits on your consumption.
  • Only allow yourself these activities in exchange for hard work.

What is mindless consumption? These usually are things like watching tv, Browsing Facebook. Or even Steemit, It depends on what your looking at LOL.

Have A Disconnect time

Having a disconnect time can help ensure that you are successful at what you are doing. It helps you reflect on your life away from the digital world.
Let the people around you know about your disconnect time and the times you are unavailable.
Have office hours.

Getting more things done in a day doesn’t have to be difficult. It just takes practice! Do it regularly. And you’ll see improvement.
