Semi colon tattoo, symbolizing more than a punctuation mark

So I was reading a magazine and I came across with a tattoo of a semicolon, I was a little bit surprised and at the same time amazed, I said to myself, that's a pretty one. Thinking it was associated with a gang or maybe a drug cartel, I decided to make a little research about the tattoo.

We live in a world where people with tattoos are judged and maybe condemned by people without tattoos, a lot of people in the society today, of course, those without tattoo still perceive people with tattoos as being wayward, or maybe associated with a gang etc
Well, the tattoo of a semi colon is rather becoming rampant in our society today, you may have seen some on social media, this tattoo definitely isn't celebrating just a punctuation mark, the tattoo of a semi colon symbolizes a much deeper meaning.

Yes, project semicolon, this is the initiative behind the tattoo, semicolon.
It is an anti suicidal organization founded in 2013 by Amy Bleuel, apparently Amy wanted to honor her beloved late father, who she lost to ugly hands of suicide, the symbol associated to the punctuation mark, represents the struggle against suicide and everything that leads to the ugly act, struggle against depression, str type addiction, self injury and eventually, suicide.
Semi colon symbol also signifies a motive or an objective to believe that this is not the end, but rather a new beginning.
Project semicolon is an american non profit organization, focused on the mental health of people.
The tattoo is just to signify a solidarity or a form of support between people dealing with mental health issues or death of a loved one as a result of suicide.
