World's First Underwater Resort
Opening soon is the the world's first underwater stay at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island in Maldives. It is scheduled to welcome customers as early as November 2018, and it took $15 million to build! It is over 16 feet deep in the Indian Ocean, and guests can see a 180-degree view of sea life.
The resort can hold up to nine guests at any given time and consists of two floors with a staircase and an elevator. Key features include a king size bed, a shower that has a view of the ocean, and a kitchen with a dining area and bar.
As well as 24-hour access to a butler, a fitness trainer/yoga instructor, and a private chef.
On the upper deck is a swimming pool with a view of the sunrise/sunset.
The structure was designed by Japanese architect, Yuji Yamazaki, and constructed by Nippura Co., which builds aquariums. Conrad is weighted down with 10 piles of concrete and steel that also help stabilize it during harsh sea conditions.
When guests stay at Conrad, they also get to experience a private speedboat to travel around the island, the resort's yacht, and a variation of water sports.
And if that isn't enough, the hotel also has a restaurant called Ithaa.
This is definitely a bucket list item for some, and takes hotel booking to a whole other level. Happy travels!
