Thinking about traveling to Spain? Here are the country's top ten most beautiful towns you won't want to miss.
(1) Albarracín, Aragon. Located in the hills of east central Spain and home to the Guadalaviar River. The Andador Tower from the 10th century can be found here.
(2) Cudillero, Asturias. Known for its fishing industry. Legend has it that this city was founded by the Vikings, and as a result, some of the local citizens still speak Pixueto.
(3) Santillana del Mar, Cantabria. Located in northern Spain, it consists of medieval towers and palaces.
(4) Aínsa, Aragon. You can find this town just south of the Pyrenees with a mountainous landscape. There is even a church in the city that goes back to the 12th century, and a castle that dates back to the 11th century.
(5) La Alberca, Castilla y León. In northwestern Spain, lies the heart of this city (near to the Portuguese border). From one extreme to the next, La Alberca has long, cold winters and excruciatingly hot summers.
(6) Trujillo, Extremadura. You will find a medieval stone that sits on top of a mountain, which overlooks the city. It is known as "The Castillo." The town has traces of history from the Incan empire.
(7) Llastres, Asturias. With many beautiful sights to visit, travelers can take in the Cantabrian Sea or venture the Jurassic Museum and spot a dinosaur figure in the forest.
(8) Cadaqués, Catalonia. Located on a bay in the Cap de Creus peninsula, tourists will enjoy this beautiful fishing village.
(9) Peñíscola, Valencia. Located in eastern Spain, there are the Pebret and Norte beaches. The history of this town dates back to the 13th century and includes some of the native olive and lavender trees that are home to the region.
(10) Luarca, Asturias. A real fishing port, this city offers beaches and gardens. The Nobel Prize winner for medicine, Severo Ochoa, was born here.
