Top American Beers for the Fall
With fall right around the corner, it only makes sense to talk about pumpkin beer. Below are some of the top ales from around the country you'll be happy to try this season.
Schlafly Pumpkin Ale (St. Louis, MO). After being fermented in pounds of pumpkin and infused with cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg, Schlafly's is aimed at being the ultimate pumpkin pie in liquid form.
The Fear Imperial Pumpkin Ale (Frederick, MD). Sponsored by the Flying Dog Brewery, every 50 barrels of ale is combined with 300 pounds of pumpkin. It is uniquely darker than traditional pumpkin ales.
Alewerks Pumpkin Ale (Williamsburg, VA). The inspiration for this one comes from Brewmaster Geoff Logan's mother's recipe for pumpkin pie. Combined with cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar, this makes for the perfect brew to pair with Thanksgiving dinner.
Elysian Punkuccino Coffee Pumpkin Ale (Seattle, WA). This beer is made with Stumptown coffee, and is combined with pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Pumking Imperial Ale (Lakewood, NY). Owned by Southern Tier, this ale is filled with an aroma of pumpkin, pie crust, vanilla, and roasted pecans.
