Street Food in Thailand

in #life7 years ago

In Thailand, there are plenty of opportunities to try the “street food,” which is just what it sounds like—food vendors who prepare and sell items for consumption on the street corners. There is plenty of variety to choose from as well.

They have fresh coconut water.

And also chicken on a stick.

Plus plenty of authentic Thai dishes, but please beware some of them can be really spicy.

We did not really try any street food during our trip, but if you do wish to indulge, here are some tips to help keep you safe.

(1) If you see vendors with long lines, those ones are probably your best bets. Basically, you want to do as the locals do, so if they are piled into one line, there is usually a reason for it.

(2) I cannot stress this next one enough. Please, please ensure that if you are eating something that is supposed to be hot/cooked that it is actually hot when you receive it. Letting food come down to room temperature can be very unsafe due to the exposure risks of bacteria and other microorganisms.

Other than that, happy eating!

I love eating out like that, and in Thailand its so cheap lol

It is! And it's interesting how some stuff you're not really sure what it is, but it tastes so good. Which dish did you enjoy the most in Bangkok?

be the dried banana sweet

That sounds good. I tried to find a vendor who was selling sweet mangoes. I heard they're really good. Have you ever tried them?
