DoubleTree Hilton Saves 28 Homeless This Christmas

in #life6 years ago

One DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in the UK is offering 28 less fortunate people a free stay at their location. On 24 and 25 Dec, the hotel will serve the group a complimentary Christmas dinner.

This olive branch was extended after the group's previous reservation at the Britannia Hotels’ Royal Hotel Hull was cancelled without explanation. They paid nearly $1,400 to stay with the hotel on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Raise the Roof Homeless Project founder, Carl Simpson believes this is nothing more than discrimination. Britannia later reneged after the story went public, saying that they would allow the group to stay under certain conditions. But Raise the Roof refused.

Other donations have been provided to the group since going with public with contributions totaling over $11,300.
