That's a huge step! Wow. Yay for Glory having a new home. Looks like she's in a great place. I used to volunteer at a big cat sanctuary, where the lions and tigers and such were in enclosures. Many of them started as "exotic pets." Which isn't the same as Glory's situation at all, but the point is those cats were for the most part happy animals. They lived out their lives in dignity with toys and perches and interaction with other animals, and were loved by those who visited them, myself included.
Well said, Katrina. We're all aware of horrid situations with horrid living conditions and horrid people who inflict their will over the will of the animals just because they can. But rescue and sanctuary for animals who happen to have walked a different path than their wild counterparts can be beautiful places, and those animals live enriched, fulfilled lives that they would likely choose again and again if given the opportunity. Glory certainly had numerous chances every day to "go free," and she declined all of them. So we do the best we can for those types of animals, and the outcome is usually satisfying for everyone.
