Some (random) thoughts on the reasons for stuff

I talked with myself about good reasons for stuff. I believe at least all Geminis, if not most of people in general, do that but if you don’t, bear with me. Most of the dimensions of me have already found homeostasis and soon, soon I will flourish with all of them like the compound eye of a fly. Or a stroboscope. You get the drill: equilibrium in multiplicity.

Anyway. When I was a child I decided that I was never going to perform any action for a reason other than love. You can stop reading here if you think criticism and sarcasm are things that make you look intelligent.

Now I see there is much more to it than just a childish thought. Love will give you that excitement that pushes you forward to do something. And you need as much of it as you can to just stay alive. You need that slight thrill, as if someone turned on some long-lost engine in you, that specific flush of warmth that you know isn’t a sign of anemia. Still no clue?

Remember...

• ...those long night conversations with your crush in your teens when you first thought: wow, this person gets me?
• ...the thrill or entering an abandoned building, making that place yours, and then taking there only the people who were special to you?
• ...how music made you feel when you were young and constantly listening to it on your headphones?
• ...how you felt when you found a new hobby and nothing could take your mind off of it?

Maybe we are old and dull now, but everyone knows a few people who are high on what they do. Let's do more of the stuff we love, so we can be those people.

Don’t do your chores. Clean up, because you love your mother, who would do it otherwise to remove harmful pathogens – she does it because she cares, she does it because she loves. Clean up, because you love yourself.

Don’t do work for the sole purpose of money-making to survive. If you have no interest in anything whatsoever and no motive chosen for the path of your life, at least make the money to pamper yourself and share it with others. Find a good purpose for it, because the reason you are around, are other people.

Don’t do things you would do for reasons other than love. Don’t watch TV. Don’t wear a bra. Whatever strikes your chord. You choose.

A few years back I realized nothing really depends on us. On you, on me. We just float, vigilant in the bemused, indifferent blob, sticky cold social magma and all we can do is align and position ourselves depending on what is being done to us. We collect the things it does to us and we say we are proud of all the scars on our bodies, and only on summer nights when they show we spend too much time with mirrors and we cover them up and imagine what would happen if they never existed.

Let’s at least consciously choose the instagram filter.
