#luarbiasa Opening Night; Ola Bola Musical (luarbiasa means extraordinary)

Hi There 😊,

I think I am going to have to watch it again! Yes, it was that good. Ola Bola Musical (yup, without the "the") is based on the 2016 Movie with the same tittle that's inspired by true events. Back in 1980, the Malaysian football team almost made it to the Olympics. They qualified but couldn't play at the Olympics due to political circumstances.

The musical stars Iedil Putra as the commentator, Stephen Rahman Hughes as Coach Harry Mountain, Altimet as Sarjen Ahmad and Douglas Lim as the naysayer. Ali and Ah Chai is played by the original actors from the movie and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Everything about the musical came together from the cast to the music to the choreography to the audio and visual effects.

This is the first time I've seen my kids genuinely enjoy theater and not because Mummy has expectations haha. They laughed, cheered and clapped at the right moments. I was thoroughly immersed in the trials and tribulations of the players even though I am not a football fan (and that's putting it mildly). And the victory when they persevered and came through with the team's support.

At first, I thought I was a little bias since Raynen has a small part in it, but since the preview on the 7th and opening on the 8th, it has been receiving some heart-felt reviews. If you are in the vicinity go watch it. Just like a concert and a sport event, the only way to enjoy is to be there so you can engulf yourself in the "feels" 360 degrees.
